1. Current Status, Position

Dr Paulsson is a Hospital Pharmacist invested as a Project Leader for development projects in extemporaneous compounding, paediatric medication handling and the use of Patient Data Management Systems in intensive care. Dr Paulsson is also affiliated with the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health at Uppsala University as a Researcher and Lecturer

2. Education

Dr Paulsson obtained his pharmacist degree at Uppsala University, Sweden, in 1997 and his PhD in 2001 (pharmaceutics). He has held positions as formulation scientist at both Cederroth International and Fresenius Kabi. He has been head of the extemporaneous compounding unit of Uppsala University Hospital (Apoteket AB), preparing radiopharmaceuticals, chemotherapy and other aseptically prepared medications as well as managing the clinical trials unit.

3. Research Area

Dr Paulsson’s research focuses on the safe handling of medications in the paediatric patient group from a clinical pharmaceutics perspective. 

4. Conflict of interest

Dr Paulsson is a member of the advisory board of Baxter, for whom he holds lectures and receives honoraria. He also used to give lectures for B. Braun and Fresenius Kabi, for which he received honoraria.
