Patrick Koch is an international consultant and entrepreneur specializing in the digital transformation of medication management in hospitals, with extensive experience in healthcare IT and hospital pharmacy automation. As the founder and managing director of Peka Consulting, Patrick provides strategic advisory services to healthcare organizations aiming to leverage technology to improve patient safety and operational excellence.
Education
With over 25+ years of experience in international business management for large multinational companies, Patrick has a proven track record of delivering innovative solutions to complex business challenges.
He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration of Solvay Business School, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium and has worked with a diverse range of healthcare clients across Europe.
Research area
Patrick is actively involved in the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists (EAHP), where he leads its initiative to advance interoperability in medication management. He is dedicated to vendor-neutral solutions and fostering collaboration among stakeholders to drive innovation in that domain.
He is also co-founder of The Asclepius Project, a pan-European group dedicated to advancing closed-loop medication management in Europe, and collaborates with PharmIA, a French start-up developing an AI-powered clinical decision support platform that assists hospital pharmacists in identifying and prioritizing medication-related risks. Alongside these activities, Patrick works as an independent consultant, helping hospital pharmacists automate and digitally transform their medication management processes. He also leads the DACS project, an AI-native platform designed to optimise medication logistics in hospitals.
