Current position
Niall O’Boyle is currently the Trust Lead Clinical Education Pharmacist for the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust in Northern Ireland. He is responsible for delivery of experiential learning for undergraduate pharmacy students within the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust as well as having a role as an advanced clinical pharmacist. Niall is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the School of Pharmacy in Queen’s University Belfast.
Education
Niall studied Pharmacy at Queen’s University Belfast and qualified as a pharmacist in 2009. In 2010 he joined the National Health Service (NHS) in Northern Ireland and obtained a Postgraduate Degree of Masters of Science in Advanced Pharmacy Practice (with Independent Prescribing) with Distinction at Queen’s University Belfast in 2017. In 2024 Niall also attained a Postgraduate Certificate in Simulation based Clinical Education at the University of Edinburgh.
Research area
His research focuses on pharmacy experiential learning, interprofessional education and fluid prescribing within pharmacy education.
