1. Current Status, Position

Head of Service ICAR – Managing Director of SiteGPR®
SiteGPR® is a website providing guidelines on how to use drugs in patients with kidney disease. This unique website is run by Service ICAR, a national medical advisory service, created in 1999, at Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, with Pr. Gilbert Deray, Head of the Department of Nephrology. SiteGPR® is opened to all healthcare professionals. Subscription may be individual, or may be part of a partnership contract with another entity (Medical societies, professional associations, pharmaceutical industry, …)

2. Education

Dr. Vincent Launay-Vacher was graduated as a PharmD in 2000 when he had already created Service ICAR at Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris, France. Service ICAR is a medical advisory service on "drugs and the kidney" ie. 1) drug dosage adjustment in patients with renal disease, 2) drug-drug interactions with immunosuppressive, and 3) drugs renal effects. This service is dedicated to French physicians and pharmacists in order to give them advices on how to manage drugs in their renal failure/transplanted patients according to published data in the international medical and scientific literature.

3. Research Area

Research activities of Dr Launay-Vacher focus on clinical pharmacology, with specific interests in nephrotoxicology and nephropharmacology. For the past years, oncology drugs and especially targeted therapie are an important area of interest for Dr. Launay-Vacher. He authored to date 137 articles indexed in PubMed, 259 in Google Scholar and his H and i10 factors are 24 and 59, respectively.
