1. Current Status, Position

Pierre-Olivier Lang is associate director of the Nescens centre of preventive medicine at the Clinic of Genolier in Switzerland.

2. Education

Pierre-Olivier Lang is a specialist in internal medicine, prevention and public health, and in the medicine of aging. He is Privatdozent at University of Geneva and an Associate Professor in “Translational Medicine” at Cranfield University (UK).

3. Research Area

Pierre-Olivier Lang’s research activities focus on:

  1. Preventing drug-drug, drug-disease and drug related-adverse outcomes in the aging and aged adult populations. He has contributed to the validation, spreading and transcultural adaptation of the STOPP-START1 set of criteria. He participates to the development and validation of the STOPP-START2 set of criteria.
  2. The aging of the immune system, its diagnosis and its regeneration and its impact on vaccine response and vaccine effectiveness.
