1. Current Status, Position

Dr. Karapinar-Çarkit (PharmD, PhD) is hospital pharmacist-epidemiologist at the Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis Hospital in Amsterdam.

2. Education

Dr. Karapinar-Çarkit is a PharmD and a PhD in Pharmacoepidemiology.

Education: Pharmacy (2005), Epidemiology (2011), Hospital Pharmacy (2014)

She has worked in the following areas of hospital pharmacy: research, epidemiology, geriatrics, nursing homes. She is a teacher for pharmacy students at Utrecht University for their hospital pharmacy traineeship.

3. Research Area

• Medication safety and transitional pharmaceutical care;
• Medicines Reconciliation on Admission and Discharge;
• Medicines Reconciliation during ambulatory clinic visits;
• Continuity of pharmaceutical care post-discharge;
• Patient empowerment/patient needs.
