Current Status, Position

Ms Gail Fleming currently is the Director for Education and Professional Development for the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and as such, is responsible for the design and delivery of an education strategy for the RPS and the provision of educational products within this for the benefit of members. She is also an accreditor of undergraduate degrees for the General Pharmaceutical Council and Social Work England.

Education

Ms Gail Fleming studied Pharmacy at the University of Strathclyde joining the UK register of pharmacists in 1989. She then undertook an MSc in Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Brighton in 1993 and an MBA in Public Sector Management in 2010.

Research Area

Ms Gail Fleming’s research interests are related to pharmacy workforce. She has been the pharmacy lead on role analysis projects to define the professional attributes for pre-registration and foundation pharmacists as well as foundation pharmacy technicians. She also recently studied the experiences of pharmacists training to become advanced clinical practitioners in urgent care centre.
