Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, the participants should:

  • Understand the unmet need for patients with worsening HF and the importance of reducing future HF hospitalisations

  • Be able to explain current treatment options for patients with HF following a worsening event and the limitation of these treatments

  • Understand the high-risk patient population in VICTORIA and the use of vericiguat for patients with symptomatic chronic HF following a worsening event

  • Understand the practical aspects of hospital treatment for patients with worsening HF

Educational need addressed:
Hospital pharmacists need to be aware of the recent results of the VICTORIA for high-risk chronic patients with worsening heart failure. They should know how to treat these patients in the context of current and future treatment options to ensure state-of-the-art medication in their respective hospitals to facilitate safe and efficient treatment for patients with CHF following a worsening event.
