The EAHP Board, elected for three-year terms, oversees the association’s activities. Comprising directors responsible for core functions, it meets regularly to implement strategic goals. Supported by EAHP staff, the Board controls finances, coordinates congress organization, and ensures compliance with statutes and codes of conduct.

Goals
The aim of the Swedish Pharmaceutical Society is to support research and innovation in medicines and healthcare, and to promote high professional standards through supporting education and professional development.
Membership
The Swedish Pharmaceutical Society is a non-profit organization for professionals engaged in the field of pharmaceuticals with approximately 5,300 individual members. The Swedish Pharmaceutical Society is divided into 14 scientific sections, 11 regional divisions and 3 interdisciplinary interest groups. The Swedish Pharmaceutical Society’s Section for Hospital Pharmacy is the expert body for scientific and professional topics pertaining to health-system pharmacy. The Section for Hospital Pharmacy has around 420 individual members, but represents the whole field of health-system pharmacy practice, including more than 600 hospital pharmacists working in various settings.
The Section for Hospital Pharmacy is Sweden’s member association in EAHP.
Specialisation
There are no formal postgraduate specialisation requirements to work as a hospital pharmacist in Sweden.
There is a one-year postgraduate MSc course in Clinical Pharmacy offered at Uppsala University. Though not mandatory, this course is an important qualification for pharmacists pursuing a career in clinical pharmacy.
