Current position
Ema Paulino is currently President of the Portuguese National Pharmacies Association (ANF), General Manager of Ezfy, and pharmacist-in-charge and owner of Nuno Álvares Pharmacy in Portugal. She also serves as Non-Executive Vice-President of CUF and Secretary of the World Pharmacy Council, while representing the pharmaceutical sector at national and international levels.
Education
Ema graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon. She completed post-graduate studies in Community Pharmacy and Pharmacovigilance at the same university, and an Executive Program in Value Measurement for Health Care at Harvard Business School. She also attended the Pharmacy Leadership Academy of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Foundation and pursued a Master’s programme in Health Management at the Portuguese National School of Public Health.
Research area
Her research focuses on community pharmacy-based interventions to optimise medication use, improve patient outcomes, and support chronic disease management. Her work includes international collaborations on medication optimisation after hospital discharge, cardiovascular and respiratory health screening in pharmacies, digital and mobile-health supported services, and gender equity in the healthcare workforce.
