1. Current Status, Position

Dr. Beaney is regional quality assurance specialist at the North East England, NHS.

2. Education

Dr. Beaney graduated from the University of Sunderland with a First Class Honours Degree in Pharmacy. After registering as a Pharmacist, she obtained a M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Analysis then developed a successful career in hospital pharmacy specialising in Quality Control and Assurance. Dr. Beaney is a Regional Specialist Quality Assurance Pharmacist for the North East in the NHS and is part of the NHS Specialist Pharmacy Services. She is current Chair of the NHS Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance Committee and has been professional secretary (twice!). She edits the Quality Assurance of Aseptic Preparation Services (standards for unlicensed aseptic units in the NHS) on behalf of the NHS Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance Committee.

3. Research Area

Dr. Beaney specialises in Quality Assurance and undertakes practice-based research in areas involving preparation and Quality Assurance of medicines. She obtained a Professional Doctorate in January 2010 on the subject: “The Development and Implementation of Appropriate Standards for the Preparation and Production of Medicines”.

The Groups will connect all members that share a category. Members who work on the same assocation, on the same hospital, that have the same role, etc.
