1. Current Status, Position

Dr Martina Teichert is employed as Scientific Advisor at the Dutch Pharmacists Association, where she is responsible for the research policy and quality management for community pharmacists. She also works as an Associate Professor at Leiden University, where she is a coordinator for the development of students’ research skills and leads a research line on the quality of pharmaceutical care.

2. Education

Dr Teichert studied pharmacy at the University of Braunschweig, Germany, and became licensed pharmacist in 1987. Then she studied economics at the same university and obtained a degree in 1990. She studied epidemiology at the VU University of Amsterdam and obtained a degree in 2005. In 2011 she obtained a PhD in pharmacoepidemiology at Rotterdam University for her work on genetic aspects in coumarin treatment.

3. Research Area

Dr Teichert’s research focuses on pharmacoepidemiology, guideline implementation for community pharmacies and measurement of the quality of pharmaceutical care.

4. Conflict of interest: 

Dr Martina Teichert has received an unconditional research grant from AstraZeneca.
