2. Education

  • BSc Pharmacy (1st class Honours)

  • PhD

3. Research Area

If pharmacy education and practice are to develop, we need robust, evaluative data to demonstrate what works and does not, to explore the views of service users and others.

I am involved in several areas of pharmacy research. I lead the Pharmacist Prescribing Research Group with current research including: patients’ views of pharmacist prescribing, early changes in pharmacist prescribing along with barriers and facilitators. With others, I am also involved in research focusing on pharmaceutical public health. We are currently researching: community pharmacists’ competencies and related training needs; and community pharmacist involvement in alcohol management. I am also involved in aspects of pharmacovigilance, particularly its application to the paediatric population.
