1. Current Status, Position

Dr Scott Cunningham (PhD, BSc (Hons)) is currently Group Leader – Clinical Practice.

He was previously a hospital pharmacist in NHS Tayside at Ninewells Hospital and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde at the Western Infirmary, Glasgow.

2. Education

Dr Scott Cunningham graduated with a BSc (Hons) from the University of Strathclyde in 1989. He completed an PgDip Clinical Pharmacy at Robert Gordon University and graduated in 1994. He also completed a PhD at Robert Gordon University following his thesis submission in 2001. 

3. Research Area

Dr Scott Cunningham’s research work to date has predominantly included work focused on educational developments in healthcare practice. His research base has been much broader than pure academic work focused on students in the higher education setting. At every opportunity he has tried to be involved in research that involves practitioners and patients and so by being based in ‘real life’ it has made impacts on practice.

Dr Cunningham was an ‘Established’ member of the former RGU Institute of Health and Welfare Research and the Clinical and Practice and the Pharmacy Education research groups within the school. He was also a member of the prescribing research group and the re-classification of medicines research group. In the former, Dr Cunningham made significant contributions to the educational context and application of the 20 or so publications in pharmacist prescribing.

All the EAHP team is working on providing a Forum that can help connect all the members in Conversations and Groups to talk about important matters for the European Hospital Pharmacist.

The Forum will be accessible for all the EAHP members, you don’t have to create a new account to browse and participate.

Conversations and groups

The Conversations will be moderated by our team to provide documents and relevant topics for the community.

The Groups will connect all members that share a category. Members who work on the same assocation, on the same hospital, that have the same role, etc.
