Current position
Robert Horne
is a professor of behavioral medicine and director of the Centre for Behavioral Medicine at the School of Pharmacy, University College London.

Education
Prof. Horne studied Pharmacy as an undergraduate and obtained a masters degree in clinical pharmacy from the University of London. After 10 years as a clinical hospital pharmacist within the UK NHS, he obtained a Department Health Enterprise Grant to complete a PhD in health psychology at Kings College London in 1998. Since then he has led an internationally recognised research programme to help patients and practitioners to get the best from medicines by improving engagement and adherence.

Research area
Prof. Horne’s research focuses on understanding the psychosocial and behavioral factors influencing the outcomes from prescribed medicines and vaccines to inform interventions to support patients and practitioners to optimise the use of pharmaceuticals.
