Current Status, Position

Prof Dr Frank Rademakers is Chief Medical Technology Officer and, as such, responsible for the diagnostic departments (Labs, Imaging, Biobank), Pharmacy and IT at the University Hospital of Leuven. He is a full professor at KU Leuven and responsible for the department of Cardiovascular Imaging and Dynamics. He also is emeritus professor at KU Leuven since October 2020.

Education

Prof Dr Frank Rademakers was part of the management of the University Hospital of Leuven since 2005, originally as CMO, later as CMTO. Before that, he worked as a cardiologist in the University Hospital of Leuven and at the University Hospital of Antwerp. He teaches Cardiac Physiology and Innovation and Leadership at the KU Leuven. He did his PhD at John Hopkins University, MD, USA.

Research Area

Prof Dr Frank Rademakers interests focus on Cardiac Physiology using imaging techniques, echocardiography and MR imaging, innovations in management of hospitals, hospital processes and care programmes.
