1. Current Status, Position
Parisa Mirbod is a Lead Quality Assurance Pharmacist at Birmingham Women and Children Hospital (BWCH) managing projects on quality and implementing Quality Management System (QMS) into the pharmacy department and Contract Manufacturing Sites. Additionally, she works as a Quality Assurance Advisor primarily focusing on QMS encompassing activities such as audits, investigating deviations, implementation of corrective and preventative actions, and advising on change management plans.
2. Education
Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) – April 2016 (Current) Aston University Business School, Birmingham. Subject of the Study: To investigate the feasibility and benefits of implementing a QMS in a pharmaceutical setting.
Qualified Person Course (Q3P) – June 2013 to June 2014 University College of London (UCL). Completed 11 modules: pharmaceutical microbiology; formulation and processing sterile dosage forms; formulation and processing non-sterile dosage form; pharmaceutical analysis and testing; packaging; investigational medicinal product; maths and statistics; law and administration; active pharmaceutical ingredient; medicinal chemistry and therapeutics; quality management systems.
MPharm (Master’s Degree in Pharmacy)- September 2006 to June 2010 Aston University, Birmingham. Dissertation: Looking at compliance and issues for using an un-licensed and off-label oral liquid formulation in paediatric (age 0 to 18years) in-patients with chronic disease at Birmingham Children’s Hospital (BCH).
