1. Current Status, Position

Dr Yogini Jani is a Consultant Pharmacist for Medication Safety, a Health Foundation Improvement Science Fellow at UCLH NHS Foundation Trust and also the Director of the UCLH Centre for Medicines Optimisation Research & EducationShe is conducting research at UCL School of Pharmacy on the safety of antimicrobial prescribing in patients with penicillin allergy.

2. Education

Dr Jani studied at the School of Pharmacy, University of London and graduated in 1994. In 2008, she obtained a PhD in pharmacy practice for her research evaluating the implementation of an electronic prescribing system in a children’s hospital.

3. Research Area

Dr Jani’s research focuses on medication safety, including medication errors in children and care homes, and the role of information technology in reducing medication errors.
