1. Current Status, Position

Dr Edwards is currently a Senior Lecturer and MPharm Course Leader. She is Involved in teaching and administration for both undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy students.

2. Education

  • Graduated with a BSc (Hons) Pharmacy from Robert Gordon Institute of Technology in 1989.
  • Completed an MSc in Clinical Pharmacy at Robert Gordon University and graduated in 2001.
  • Completed a PgCert in Tertiary Level Teaching at Robert Gordon University and graduated in 2001.
  • Completed a Doctor of Education at University of Stirling and due to graduate in 2014.
  • Ruth was previously a community pharmacist in Scotland for around 7 years before joining RGU as an academic pharmacist  in 1999.

3. Research Area

Her main research focus is educational research, with a particular interest and expertise in using qualitative methods in this field. She has just completed a Doctorate of Education exploring pharmacy students’ learning. Ruth has a specific interest in researching teaching, learning and assessment and has published qualitative studies on reflective learning, communication and consultation skills.
