The EAHP Board, elected for three-year terms, oversees the association’s activities. Comprising directors responsible for core functions, it meets regularly to implement strategic goals. Supported by EAHP staff, the Board controls finances, coordinates congress organization, and ensures compliance with statutes and codes of conduct.

Current Status, Position
Prof Bryony Dean Franklin is Professor of Medication Safety at UCL School of Pharmacy, Executive Lead Pharmacist (Research) at the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Theme Lead for the NIHR Imperial Patient Safety Translational Research Centre, Theme Lead for the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit in Healthcare Associated Infection and Antimicrobial Resistance at the Imperial College London, and Senior Editor at BMJ Quality and Safety.
Education
Prof Franklin did her Pharmacy Degree at the University of Bath, before doing an MSc and a PhD at what is now UCL School of Pharmacy. She is a Hospital Pharmacist by background. More recently she completed a BA in Theology at Durham University and is a Deacon within the Church of England.
Research Area
Prof Franklin has been involved with patient safety research for nearly twenty years, and has published widely on medication safety, evaluation of various technologies designed to reduce errors, and how we can support the public role in patient safety. She is co-editor of the textbook “Safety in Medication Use” and co-author of “Going into Hospital? A guide for patients, carers and families”, a book aimed at the general public.
