1. Current Status, Position

Hospital pharmacist and clinical pharmacologist, head clinical pharmaceutical and toxicological laboratory, Apotheek Haagse Ziekenhuizen, Den Haag, The Netherlands.

2. Education

  • 1984: graduated in pharmacy from the State University Leiden
  • 1984-1986: military service
  • 1989: graduated in hospital pharmacy with trainee in Apotheek Haagse Ziekenhuizen
  • Apotheek Haagse Ziekenhuizen: trainee clinical pharmacologist
  • Apotheek Haagse Ziekenhuizen: PhDship clinical pharmacology of intravenous tobramycin and development of an inhalation form of tobramycin in patients with cystic fibrosis (graduated 1996).

3. Research Area

Dr. Touw focuses his research on:

  • Clinical pharmacology and clinical pharmacokinetics of drugs in various areas; Cystic ibrosis, neonates, HIV patients, patients on dialysis,
  • Clinical pharmacogenetics of drugs.
