Current Status, Position

Dr Pedro Barroso Inácio is currently Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist working at PPD in Lisbon, where he is responsible for providing regulatory expertise in clinical trials. Dr Pedro Barroso Inácio is also Visiting Researcher at the Clinical Pharmacy Group from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Helsinki.

Education

Dr Pedro Barroso Inácio studied pharmacy at the University of Lisbon and became a licensed pharmacist in 2012. He has been since involved with pharmacovigilance and regulatory affairs, having worked at the Portuguese Medicines Agency. At the same time, he has been active as a researcher in the field of patient reporting of adverse drug reactions and patient participation in pharmacovigilance. In 2018, he obtained his PhD in Social Pharmacy at the University of Helsinki on his work on patient reporting of adverse drug reactions.

Research Area

Dr Pedro Barroso Inácio’s research interests focus on patient participation and reporting of adverse drug reactions as well as the use of real-world evidence in safety monitoring and regulatory decision-making.
