The EAHP Board, elected for three-year terms, oversees the association’s activities. Comprising directors responsible for core functions, it meets regularly to implement strategic goals. Supported by EAHP staff, the Board controls finances, coordinates congress organization, and ensures compliance with statutes and codes of conduct.

2. Education
Dr. Barbara van Zwieten was trained as a pharmacologist at the State University of Leiden, The Netherlands in the department of pharmacology chaired by Prof. Dr. E.L. Noach and joined the pharmacology department in Utrecht, The Netherlands, chaired by Prof. Dr. W.H. Gispen for an additional year. She then was active in the Dutch subsidiary of Rhone-Poulenc for about 7 years, managing regulatory affairs and clinical trials, after which she switched to the Dutch regulatory Authority (MEB), first as clinical assessor, later as staff member and member of the CHMP. During that time she was involved in the development of various guidelines for clinical development of medicinal products both at CHMP/EMA and internationally.
3. Research area
Her main research interest is about clinical development of medicinal products, especially in the CnS field and in clinical trial methodology.
