The EAHP Board, elected for three-year terms, oversees the association’s activities. Comprising directors responsible for core functions, it meets regularly to implement strategic goals. Supported by EAHP staff, the Board controls finances, coordinates congress organization, and ensures compliance with statutes and codes of conduct.
8.5.2.1 Updates to current statements
The Policy and Advocacy Officer does not identify pressing need for new policy statements. However there could be value in using the 2015 GA as an opportunity to update:
- the medicines shortages statement in respect of reflecting the developments in EAHP’s policy thinking in this area since 2012;
- the specialisation statement in respect of member mandate on CTF activity;
- the bar coding statement in respect of standardised terminology agreed with GS1 since 2012 (e.g. single unit)
Otherwise, potential areas for new policy might include:
- Europe’s response to an ageing population (need for meds rec, inter sector communication, multi-disciplinary working etc);
- the Falsified Medicines Directive
- vaccination
- TTIP
