Hospital pharmacy specialisation – forming an HP CTF
The April Board meeting provides an opportunity to reflect on the BCN Congress Members Meeting on the common training framework, the best next steps and the most productive form of discussion to have with Member Associations on constructing an HP CTF at the Sofia GA.
Materials for the BCN Members Meeting here, here and here.
Feedback from members after the meeting here. The GA workshop provides a further opportunity to explore with members the best way forward.
The PAO would also like to discuss with Board Members the possibility of inviting Ian Bates to take a role in the CTF formation in respect of his strong credentials in the area of Pharmine, FIP Education, and competency framework development. Some email correspondence here.
Professional Card
Under this item, other issues related to the Professional Qualifications Directive should be discussed including the proposed European Professional Card (more information here).
The PAO attended a Commission event on the EPC on 25th March. Report of meeting here.
Headlines are:
- 7 professions are in the focus of the Commission for the EPC in the first instance: doctors, nurses, pharmacists, real estate professionals, engineers, physiotherapists, and mountain guides.
- additional qualifications can be uploaded to the system other than MPharm, so it should serve purposes for HP CTF recognition in future;
- EAHP should respond to EPC consultation (see below)
A recent Commission consultation on the topic was published which closes on 2nd June 2014. More information here. Consultation questions here.
CPD
The PAO will also update the Board on the status of a Commission project on CPD systems for healthcare professionals in Europe after meeting PGEU on the topic in the days before the Board Meeting.
The President has been invited to a Commission CPD workshop in June, an opportunity to put across HP views on the topic.
