In a special congress edition of the EJHP a supplement containing all the abstracts presented last month in Hamburg at the 20th EAHP Congress.

The journal itself contains full articles from Spain,  Germany, Switzerland, Croatia, France and the UK in a truely Europe wide journal of hospital pharmacy practice. 

The editor’s choice article this issue is looking at pharmacist prescribing in the UK with a key analysis of the nature and extent of errors. Providing more evidence of the grater role of hospital pharmacists as practioners with an error rate detected of 0.3%. In the North East of England the prescribing hospital pharmacists were using medicines from a wide variety of thereapieutic areas and a significant of the medication used in the hospital (12%).

Other studies in this issue include a cost effectiveness analysis on anaemia treatment, a review of the role drug information services impact clnical decision making and two articles on the stability and use of melatonin preparations.
