Jul 2016, Volume 23, Issue 4

July’s edition of the EJHP includes an editorial on the use of paracetamol to treat pain and original articles on the use of automated medication systems to reduce error, and the implementation of a clinical pharmacist service in a mixed Norwegian ICU.

The edition also investigates the clinical impact of medication reconciliation on admission to a French hospital and provides a short report on the effect of drug interactions involving antiretroviral drugs on viral load in HIV populations. Editor-in-Chief Phil Wiffen also pays memoriam respects to Professor Per Hartvig Honoré.

Problems caused by shortages are serious, threaten patient care and require urgent action.

Help us provide an overview of the scale of the problem, as well as insights into the impact on overall patient care.

Our aim is to investigate the causes of medicine and medical device shortages in the hospital setting,  while also gathering effective solutions and best practices implemented at local, regional, and national levels.
