The EAHP Board, elected for three-year terms, oversees the association’s activities. Comprising directors responsible for core functions, it meets regularly to implement strategic goals. Supported by EAHP staff, the Board controls finances, coordinates congress organization, and ensures compliance with statutes and codes of conduct.

The first EJHP summary article is published in Issue 4 in relation to the EAHP 2010 Survey of hospital pharmacy practise across Europe. The article focuses on comparative staffing issues in hospital pharmacies. In national news, the issue features an explanation of the medication classification system in Belgium.
In an opinion piece Irene Krämer asks if newly approved oncology treatments represent value for money. Mark Nolan summarises recent drug news and some promising advances in prostate cancer treatment. Gerardo Cajaraville and María-José Tamés reflect on the need for a pro-active role for oncology pharmacists and Gillian Cavell highlights the need for a safer presentation of intravenous paracetamol.
