Yuman provides hospital ward logistics and pharmacy automation with Buddy, enabling safe, autonomous transport of medications, samples and medical supplies around the hospital.
In the pharmacy, Buddy becomes a reliable “extra pair of hands” that takes over the frequent back-and-forth transport between the pharmacy and the clinical departments. Purpose-built for healthcare in collaboration with Danish nurses and pharmacists, Buddy navigates the hospital autonomously—including elevators and automatic doors—to deliver medications, samples, and medical supplies, especially items not suitable for pneumatic tube systems (PTS).
Beyond saving time, Buddy strengthens governance and documentation around transport. Each delivery is traceable end-to-end, with transport conditions automatically monitored and logged so the pharmacy can document how medication was handled in transit. If a deviation or incident occurs, the pharmacy has an auditable record of the conditions during transport—supporting quality assurance, investigations, and compliance requirements. By removing repetitive manual runs, the pharmacy gains time for more complex tasks such as medication control and production. In practice, pharmacies save around 40 minutes per shift per department Buddy delivers to.
On the clinical departments, Buddy replaces traditional nursing and medication carts by delivering supplies directly to patient rooms, so nurses don’t have to leave the patient’s bedside and push heavy carts. This saves 30 minutes per nurse per shift, reduces equipment waste, and supports more quality and uninterrupted care. With integration to EPR and pharmacy systems, nurses can document and register medication immediately at the bedside.
