Views sought on Geriatric Clinical Trials Guidelines
The European Forum for Good Clinical Practice (EFGCP) has launched a short public consultation on a Proposal for Guidance on Medical Research for and with Older People in Europe.
The EFGCP Geriatric Medicine Working Party has developed, together with various stakeholders from academia, industry and patients associations, a draft proposal for guidance on medical research with and for older people.
The document provides recommendations on various ethical aspects of clinical trials performed in older people, and who may belong to a vulnerable patient population. EFGCP consider the Guidance document will contribute to the protection of all older people when they become vulnerable patients in clinical trials and a better inclusion rate of this population.
