1. Current Status, Position

Niccolo Curatolo works half time as a hospital pharmacist. He is responsible of clinical trials and of clinical pharmacy activities (medication review, medication reconciliation, patient counseling) in relation with the general medicine ward of the Antoine Beclere hospital. The other half time he works as Director of Operations. He is dedicated to improving the operating processes and patient pathways (operating room, day unit hospital, outpatient clinic, …) in the 3 hospitals of the Hopitaux Universitaire Paris Sud group.                                                                                                                                     

2. Education

Since 2003, Niccolo Curatolo has completed the five-year pharmacy program at the Paris Descartes University in Paris and the four years pharmacy residency program. In 2010 he has obtained a master degree in clinical and experimental pharmacology at the Pierre et Marie Curie University in Paris. Finally, in 2014 he has obtained a PhD in industrial engineering at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers for his work on the implementation of a Lean approach for improving business processes in hospitals.

3. Research Area

His research is focused on the application of business process improvement science and more particularly lean management to hospitals. His main objective is the development of clinical pharmacy activities thanks to business process improvement techniques.
