1. Current Status, Position

Ulla Hedegaard is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacy at the University of Southern Denmark. She is responsible of the pharmacist students’ internship course and teaches in rational pharmacotherapy, pharmacology, patient communication and clinical pharmacy.

2. Education

Dr Hedegaard graduated as a pharmacist along with a MSc degree in human biology from Copenhagen University in 1991.
In 2015 she obtained a PhD in health sciences at University of Southern Denmark for her work on clinical pharmacist interventions to support adherence to thrombopreventive therapy.
She has been working with medicines information for many years, both within a hospital pharmacy and at the department of clinical pharmacology. Since 2007 she has worked part-time at the University of Southern Denmark and participated in the establishment of pharmacist education acourses at the university back in 2010. In 2018 she became a full-time employed associate professor at the university.

3. Research Area

Dr Hedegaard’s main research areas and interests are medication adherence, patient communication, problem-oriented drug information, clinical pharmacist interventions and rational pharmacotherapy.
