The EAHP Board, elected for three-year terms, oversees the association’s activities. Comprising directors responsible for core functions, it meets regularly to implement strategic goals. Supported by EAHP staff, the Board controls finances, coordinates congress organization, and ensures compliance with statutes and codes of conduct.

1. Current Status, Position
Mrs. Slimm (registered pharmacy technician – BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences/ Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills (QCFis)) Chief Pharmacy Technician at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, a specialist tertiary centre and one of the four stand-alone Children’s Hospitals in the UK. She is responsible for a team of 50 staff, comprising technicians, assistant technical officers, data analysts and administration staff, who deliver a wide range of pharmacy services not only within the hospital but also across the interface into primary care.
2. Education
Mrs. Slimm has worked within the NHS for 35 years, and has developed a wealth of experience over that time, holding senior technician roles within the Dispensary and Ward Services, setting up accredited checking technicians and medicines Management technicians across the hospital. She currently has a leading role in an innovative research pilot that has a pharmacy technician partnering a nurse in administering IV medicines to patients. The process includes a specially developed checklist inspired by the WHO safer surgery checklist.
3. Research Area
Her specialist interest is in education, training and research. She is an assessor and internal quality assurance lead for pre-registration pharmacy technician training programmes and holds a teaching certificate. Mrs. Slimm is an active member of the Regional Education Technician Group and the Strategic Workforce Group for Education.
