1. Current Status, Position

Prof Wesołowska is Head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy.

2. Education

  • 1981-1986: Master in Pharmacy (specialty in Clinical Pharmacy);
  • 1988 -1992: PhD in pharmacology;
  • 2009: habilitation in pharmaceutical sciences;
  • 1986 – 2007: senior researcher in Institute of Pharmacology Polish Academy of Science in Krakow, Poland;
  • 2007 – present: profesor and head of Department of Clinical Pharmacy Jagiellonian University Medical College in Krakow, Poland;
  • 2002 – 2005: visiting scientist in Department of Medicinal Chemistry, Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia, USA.

3. Research Area

Specialisation in in vitro and in vivo animal studies of pharmacological properties of centrally acting molecules with potential application in the treatment of psychiatric diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, epilepsy and pain relievers as well as pharmacological properties of newly synthesized compounds based on molecular mechanism of ligand-receptor interaction in the frame of wide structure-affinity and structure-activity relationships studies.
