Workshop 2 – Therapeutic education of patients

1. Current Status, Position

Anne-Marie Ané is Head nurse at the Nursing Direction being in charge of Therapeutic Patient Education (TPE) for the entire hospital (1600 beds) mostly for the medical departments (endocrinology, internal medicine, infectious disease, neurology …) but also for some surgery departments: 35 TPE programs are authorized by The Regional Agency of Health.
She is President in second of the Committee for TPE of the Universitary Hospital. For six years, she has developed the methodological setting in order to lead the teams involved in TPE programs to get their authorization, to improve the current programs and to introduce new programs (transplanted heart patients, psychiatric patients…).

2. Education

Anne-Marie Ané holds a 2d degree in Master of “Public Health specialty Education and Health” in 2009.
Since then, she has kept on continuously improving her expertise in working with professionals involved in TPE for a long time especially at the time of teaching sessions or of conducting specific organization as French Haemophiliac Association to upgrade their TPE programs.
She is used to teach TPE to educators (nurses, doctors, pharmacists …) as well as students.

3. Research Area

Five years ago, she worked with the Haemophiliac patients and professionals for the assessment of their TPE programs (AM Ané, L Wintz, T Sannie, R Gagnayre. Education thérapeutique des patients hémophiles: évaluation pédagogique et formative de 10 programmes. Santé Publique 2011/03 ; 23(2) : 123-134).
Since 2013, she has been managing a research project in TPE for transplanted heart patients, financed by the Ministry of Health.
