50 days to Congress week – just days left to get early registration discount!

28th January 2014

With just 50 days until the week of the 19th Congress of the EAHP in Barcelona, Congress organisers are delighted to publish the full schedule of keynote speakers, workshops, symposiums and satellite events. And with just days remaining until the early Congress registration fee deadline closes, EAHP is urging hospital pharmacists not to miss the chance of obtaining a discount!

The 19th Congress of the EAHP takes as its theme: “The innovative hospital pharmacist – imagination, skills and organization” with keynote speakers reflecting on the drivers of innovation, the profile of the hospital pharmacist in 2020, and knowledge management in times of information overload.

Hot topics in the programme of seminars and workshops include: medicines shortages; the re-engineering of drug preparation services; interpretation of pharmacoeconomic studies; and the hospital pharmacist’s role in clinical trials and ethics committees. The 2014 Synergy satellite, supported by an educational grant from Bayer Healthcare, will focus on the use of anticoagulants. Meanwhile a special workshop, supported by Pfizer, will investigate “Leadership, advocacy and communication for today’s hospital pharmacist”. A brand new section of the Congress will also open in Barcelona, entitled ‘Good Practice Initiatives’, highlighting transferrable examples of practical improvement made by colleague hospital pharmacists across Europe.

Congress organiser, and EAHP Chief Operating Officer, Jennie De Greef said:

“The 19th Congress of the EAHP will see the delivery of our largest ever programme of educational events! EAHP’s Scientific Committee has worked throughout the past year to ensure there is something for every hospital pharmacist: from those newly entered the profession, to those with long years of experience; from those coming from highly developed health systems, to those ambitious to break new ground.

We’re always attentive as well to the need to help hospital pharmacists in terms of registration for our Congress, which is why I want to send a message of personal encouragement to all with an interest in attending to make sure they complete the registration process before the 1st February, and benefit from the early registration fee!

We thank again our Platinum partners, Amgen and Bayer and Corporate partner, Pfizer for their support.

Barcelona is a lively Mediterranean city that’s always a pleasure to visit, and we look forward to giving a warm welcome to hospital pharmacists from across the world in just a few weeks time!

MEMBERS OF THE MEDIA ARE INVITED TO ATTEND THE CONGRESS, THE PRESS CONFERENCE ON WEDNESDAY 26th MARCH, AND ALL CONGRESS SESSIONS.
