Abstract
Clinical guidelines even if created interdisciplinary with a high degree on consensus are often found not to be applied in the clinical routine. The subject of implementation science tries to bring light into the reasons behind the non-adherence to guidelines. Hospital pharmacists should know about the different barriers of implementation and the different methods to overcome those. Those methods could be find in the field of dissemination, education and training, social interaction, decision support systems and others. Implementation of guidelines should follow a structured way and the possible barriers to implementation of guidelines should be analysed in advance.

• discuss how to overcome the barriers of implementation of therapeutic guidelines;
• discuss how to influence the process of implementation of guidelines in a way that they will work afterwards.
