1. Current Status, Position

Dr Francesca Venturini (Pharm. D, M.S.) is currently Hospital Pharmacy Director of the Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico, a 950-bed university hospital located in the heart of the city of Milan.

Her previous positions include clinical services at the University Hospital in Verona, Italy, and research activities both at USC School of Pharmacy, Deparment of Pharmaceutical Economics and Policy, Los Angeles, CA, and Mario Negri Sud Institute in S. Maria Imbaro, Italy.

2. Education

Dr Venturini got her Pharm D Degree and her Hospital Pharmacy Specialisation Diploma at the University of Padova, Italy, School of Pharmacy. Her postgraduate degrees include a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Economics and Policy at the USC School of Pharmacy, Los Angeles, CA, USA, and a Health care management certificate at the Università Bocconi, Milan, Italy.

3. Research Area

Dr Francesca Venturini’s interests and expertise include pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomics research, clinical trials, HTA and cilnical pharmacy. In this last topic she is currently dedicated at developing educational activities to foster hospital pharmacists expertise on medication reconciliation and medication review, with the aim to spread this task in all hospital pharmacies in the country.
