The EAHP Board, elected for three-year terms, oversees the association’s activities. Comprising directors responsible for core functions, it meets regularly to implement strategic goals. Supported by EAHP staff, the Board controls finances, coordinates congress organization, and ensures compliance with statutes and codes of conduct.

Goals
The hospital Pharmacists Association of Ireland exists to:
- Further the development of hospital pharmacy practices;
- Assist in the provision of continuing pharmaceutical education;
- Represent the views of the hospital pharmacist on issues of relevance to hospital pharmacy;
- Advance the professional welfare of our members.
Membership
The Hospital Pharmacist Association of Ireland represents over 300 members working in 70 hospital pharmacies.
Specialisation
In Ireland Hospital Pharmacists will generally undertake a diploma or Master’s degree in hospital pharmacy practice or clinical pharmacy practice but this is not mandatory.
According to a report published in 2012 by The Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland titled Hospital Pharmacy in Ireland 76.6% of hospital pharmacists had postgraduate qualifications with 44.6% with an Msc, 28.2% have a clinical diploma and 15.5% have a postgraduate certificate.
