EAHP COMMUNICATION TO NATIONAL PRESIDENTS AND DELEGATES Creating a pan-European inventory map of good practice initiatives in hospital pharmacy 05 April 2013 Dear EAHP National Member Association Presidents and Delegates, As the EAHP Board reviewed the results of the 2010 survey of hospital pharmacy practice in Europe, and reflected on our mission of ensuring the continuous improvement of care and outcomes for patients in the hospital setting, it became clear that we should aim to develop new tools, of a very tangible nature, to encourage ongoing development of hospital pharmacy services in every country in Europe. It is in this context that the Board has developed the concept of a proposed European Summit on Hospital Pharmacy (to be discussed and voted on at June's General Assembly), a key suggested component of which is to develop an inventory map of identifiable achievements in hospital pharmacy practice improvement from across Europe. I, and the EAHP Scientific Committeee, consider that such a database, open and accessible to all on the EAHP website, summarising examples of service improvements, how they were achieved, and the headline results of the improvement, has the potential to give very practical support in both providing inspiration and helping to plan the "how" of any improvement effort. Distinct of any Summit, the creation of such an inventory map would be an exercise with independent value and worth. I therefore hope you, and your Association, will be willing to provide assistance by collecting and submitting examples of good practice initiatives from your country. More information about the exercise, including the portal for making submissions, categories to consider, and template examples, is available here. EAHP request that initial submissions be made no later than Friday 6th June 2013. We then hope to report progress to you at the General Assembly later that month. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact EAHP for any further information in relation to this project via info@eahp.eu Many thanks in advance for your kind assistance. Yours sincerely, Prof. Dr. Cees Neef Chair of the EAHP Scientific Committee powered by This e-mail has been sent to Richard.Price@eahp.eu. Click here to unsubscribe. privacy policy
