COM Health Policy Platform
Each year 1 to 3 new topics are being added to the EU Health Policy Platform. The topics that are up for a vote are:
“Colorectal Cancer Screening in the European Union”, led by Digestive Cancers Europe
The aim is to encourage a more formal commitment by the EU Member States on high quality formal population-based colorectal cancer screening programmes. (Low interest for EAHP)
“Digital skills for future-proof doctors (Digital Doc)”, led by Erasmus MC, University Medical Centre Rotterdam
The focus will be on the actions needed to be taken by the various stakeholders in order to prepare future and current doctors to cope with the digital healthcare transformation as well as to integrate digital skills in the education and training curricula of medical doctors. (Low interest for EAHP
“Profiling and training the health care workers of the future”, led by Health First Europe and the European Health Management Association (EHMA)
The goal is to support the European Commission and its Member States in profiling the health care workers needed for the future of care, identifying their core competences and pointing out their critical role in the debate about health system reforms and new models of care. The project informs the Digital Europe Programme for the MFF 2021-2027 and aims to develop the workforce elements of the digital literacy section of the European Commission’s 2018 Communication of the Digital Transformation of health and care in the digital single market. (Possibly interesting for EAHP)
“Interprofessional Education for Digital Skills”, led by the International Network of Health Workforce Education (INHWE)
The overall aim of the Thematic Network will be to ensure that educational programmes ultimately support healthcare staff as they begin their journey as collaborative practitioners in a fast-moving digital health system. (Possibly interesting for EAHP)
“A human rights-based approach to task-shifting: the role of peer workers”, led by Mental Health Europe (MHE)
The focus will be on how the increase relevance of peers and peer workers could provide a solution to the innovative task shifting in healthcare systems. (Low interest for EAHP)
3) Consultations – state of play
09/10/19 | EMA consultation – Draft qualification opinion of clinically interpretable treatment effect measures based on recurrent event endpoints that allow for efficient statistical analyses | PP’s comments submitted. |
31/10/19 | CHMP position statement on Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and plasma-derived and urine-derived medicinal products | We won’t comment. |
