EAHP’S INVOLVEMENT IN SALES/MARKETING

1. The content or format of a CPE activity or its related materials will promote improvements or quality in healthcare and not a specific proprietary business interest of a commercial interest.

2. Industry logos may not appear directly before, during or after the synergy event.

3. Presentations must give a balanced view of therapeutic options. Use of generic names will contribute to this impartiality. If the CPE educational material or content includes trade names, where available trade names from several companies should be used, not just trade names from a single company.

PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITY BY INDUSTRY

In compliance with ECPhA standards, industry logos may not appear during the synergy seminar/event. Industry may, however, provide their own hand-outs literature to be distributed themselves promoting the event. This may not take place during or directly preceding or following the event, meaning outside the session room.

Background and Aims

Hospital Pharmacists across Europe can learn a lot from each other in terms of the exchange of best practices, the development of innovative new models of care, as well as the adoption and use of new technologies.

EAHP has historically sought to facilitate this process through the European Journal of Hospital Pharmacy, its educational events and its annual landmark Congress.

In 2012, the European Pharmaceutical Students’ Association (EPSA) liaised with EAHP to establish a network of hospital pharmacies all over Europe, willing to host undergraduate pharmacy students. An online tool, the EAHP Student Hospital Internship Database, was established. The year 2016 marked new developments of the project in order to raise the awareness of EAHP and EPSA members and to ensure more hospital pharmacists and students benefit from it.

The name of the project was then established as the EAHP-EPSA Internship Platform to reflect the joint effort of both Associations to provide an environment for hospital pharmacists and students to find each other. EAHP devotes a section of its website to the platform including relevant hospital information and details on the application process for prospective interns. Neither EAHP nor EPSA arrange the internships, EPSA helps students to find the platform, and traditionally the EAHP Platform Coordinator runs the project, putting the applicant in contact with the hospital.

Erasmus +

Applicants may be able to apply for the Erasmus+ grant for the purpose of their internship. This grant is targeted at higher education students and recent graduates who want to do an internship at any public or private organisations active in the labour market. The grant is paid by the European Commission. More information about Erasmus+ can be found here.

EAHP and EPSA are not involved in the application process and the interns have to reach an agreement between their universities and the receiving hospitals when investigating this opportunity. Please note that the practices regarding the Erasmus+ internship can differ between universities.
